I have chronic dry eye. Have been on Restasis for over a year along with every other kind of eye drop.

My tear test is good(15). My meibomian glands look okay. But I still have burning and dryness. I am 67. Today I had punctal plugs put in both eyes. My doctor told me only to use drops with no preservatives and continue to use Restasis as well as a cortisone drop when the pain is really bad. He said also to use Azasite for one month on the lids near the lashes. He gives me very little hope of this problem going away. Is there anything else I could do? I am using warm compresses twice a day and messaging my meibomian glands and taking Hydro eye vitamins.
